Transformations Worthy of the Greatest Fairy Tales

For some time now, the Disneyland Hotel has been in full molting. The goal? Nothing less than to completely “reinvent” it. Upon its reopening scheduled for the first quarter of 2024, it will be the very first Disney hotel to celebrate Disney royalty in all its splendor. A majestic journey through the ages awaits us, to rediscover the stories that made Disney famous.

From Snow White and her loyal companions to Moana, the legend from the end of the world, through the adventures of Raya and the Last Dragon, all the tales of our childhood (and even those of the younger ones!) will be honored. We invite you to explore the worlds of Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid and so many others. A chance to relive the emotions of these cult films and to be the actor in your own royal story.

A Tantalizing Sneak Peek at What’s New

If you’re as impatient as we are, here’s a little preview of the surprises that await you. Promotional visuals have been revealed. We can see the sidekicks of our favorite princesses: Hei Hei for Moana, Mrs. Potts and Chip for Belle, and Pascal for Rapunzel. We also spotted several symbols evoking our animated Classics: an apple to recall Snow White’s misadventures, a flower from Kumandra for Raya, and many other nods.

The hotel windows, for their part, offer us a breathtaking spectacle. They reveal the silhouettes of several iconic couples and characters: think of Naveen and Tiana, Cinderella and her Prince Charming, or even Olaf and Elsa. And how could we not mention the royal French Fleur de Lys? This characteristic symbol promises to add a touch of elegance to this magical place.

Brand New Costumes

Brand new costumes have also been designed for the reopening of the hotel. The costumes reveal a contemporary elegance with a royal touch. Among the details: high collars, tailcoats, spats, laces, leg o’mutton sleeves and accessories like cravat ties. The jacquard, custom-made in France, gives a chic and refined look, accentuated by jeweled buttons specific to each costume.

The choice of fabrics was crucial. For this task, the collaboration with Dutel, a family company from Lyon that are experts in jacquard weaving, was essential. Thanks to Mr. Dutel’s expertise, the costumes combine elegance, comfort and durability.

  • 14 designed uniforms, a total of 27,777 pieces.
  • Use of 4,000 meters of jacquard fabric.
  • 3 types of costumes for different services: Reception/Concierge/Store, Rooms/Room Service, and Restaurants/Bars.

To top it all off, the creation of the Fleur de Lys jewel was a huge source of pride for Karine. Affixed to the cravat ties or headgear, it completes the look with elegance worthy of the finest royalty. It’s this little detail that makes all the difference and gives the costumes their unique charm.
