Lorcana Chapter 2: Pre-order, Release Date, Disney Characters… Everything We Know About Rise of the Floodborn

It’s the collectible card game everyone is talking about: Disney Lorcana. After the runaway success of Chapter 1, fans can’t wait to uncover more of the continuing adventures in the magical world of Lorcana. And on September 12, Ravensburger revealed new details about Chapter 2, called Rise of the Floodborn. Here’s everything we know so far about this promising new expansion.

Release Date Slated for November 2023

Chapter 2 of Disney Lorcana will be available starting November 17, 2023 at specialty stores. Fans can pre-order the expansion now at their trusted retailer to ensure they get the coveted booster packs on release day.

The wide release at mass retailers will follow shortly after on December 1, 2023. This is sure to thrill collectors eager to expand their decks with new cards! The cards will be available at the usual vendors.

New Disney Characters to Collect

The Rise of the Floodborn expansion will introduce no less than 6 new Disney licenses into the Lorcana universe: Winnie the Pooh, The Princess and the Frog, Basil of Baker Street, Zootopia, The Jungle Book, and Raya and the Last Dragon. This will delight fans of these animated classics, who can finally find their favorite characters in collectible card form!

Iconic figures like Winnie, Tiana, and Belle are already confirmed for Chapter 2. Over 200 new cards will fill out players’ decks. It’s the perfect chance to grow your collection and refine strategies.

Pre-Orders Open

The new Chapter 2 cards are already available for pre-order. Several vendors have waitlists open for customers, with delivery expected in mid-November at the store. Here is a non-exhaustive list of French dealers already offering card pre-orders:

New Game Mechanic: Resist

The big addition in Chapter 2 is the introduction of a new “Resist” game mechanic. Specifically, this ability will allow certain characters to reduce incoming damage by a set amount.

For example, Resist +2 would decrease damage dealt to that character by 2 points. An ability that will change combat approaches and open new strategies.

Available Products at Launch

As with Chapter 1, players will be able to acquire various Lorcana products at the launch of Rise of the Floodborn:

• Booster packs with 12 random cards
• Two starter decks Amber/Sapphire and Amethyst/Steel
• An Illumineer’s Trove box with 8 boosters and a player’s guide
• Accessories like sleeves, deck boxes, and playmats
